What is MakeYourOwnFont.com?
It’s an online tool that transforms your handwriting into a real downloadable .ttf font file. You can use your font on Canva, Word, Photoshop.
How do I create a font?
1. Go to Studio.
2. Draw the letters.
3. Submit your glyphs and then Download your very own .ttf file.
4. Install it on your device, or try it on Free NotePad
That’s it — your handwriting becomes a real font!
Using Your Font
Can I use my font in Google Docs?
Google Docs does not support uploading or installing
custom fonts. This is a limitation of Google Docs itself.
You can still use your font by creating text in another program (like Canva,
Word, Photoshop) and inserting it as an image inside Google Docs.
How do I use my font in Canva?
Steps:
- Go to Brand → Brand Kit
- Find Brand Fonts
- Click Upload a font
- Select your .ttf or .otf file
- Confirm that you own the rights
Note: Custom font uploads are not supported on free Canva accounts.
Does it work on Chromebook?
You can still use your handwriting font on a Chromebook in these ways:
- Canva (Pro) – upload your .ttf directly in the browser
- Linux Mode – install fonts inside Linux apps (advanced)
Can I use Apple Pencil?
Yes. MakeYourOwnFont.com fully supports Apple Pencil on iPad/iPhone. Safari gives the best accuracy when drawing strokes.
Pricing & Credits
Why do I need credits to download my font?
Generating a font requires real computing on our servers (glyph tracing, vectorizing, glyph validation, .ttf building). Credits help keep the tool running.
Are credits a subscription?
No. You pay once. Credits never expire. There are no renewals, no monthly fees, and no hidden charges.
What do I get for free?
- Create up to 10 full fonts
- Draw all basic letters and punctuation
Why not unlimited free fonts?
Each export uses expensive compute resources. Offering 10 free credits lets everyone try the tool while keeping the site sustainable.
Where is the pricing page?
Troubleshooting
My phone says “profile added” or asks for a password. Is that from you?
No! MakeYourOwnFont.com never installs device profiles, apps, or system settings. You only download a standard .ttf font file. If you see a strange profile, it is not from this site.
The font didn’t download
- Disabling ad blockers
- Using Chrome or Safari
- Enabling downloads in browser settings
My font shows boxes □□□ instead of letters
This happens if a letter was not drawn. Premium unlocks advanced characters (accents, math, symbols, currency). Draw all characters you plan to use to avoid missing glyphs.
The font doesn’t look right in Canva/Word
Try refreshing the app or restarting your browser after installation.

Can I delete my account?
Yes. Email makeyourownfont@gmail.com and we remove everything within 24 hours.
Do you store my fonts?
No. We never store your downloaded .ttf files. Your font is generated on demand and belongs 100% to you.
